The library at Christ’s College Finchley is very well stocked with thousands of nonfiction and

fiction books and it is a great place for students to read and do schoolwork. The library is

open during the whole school day and occasionally after school as well. The library Twitter

account (@ccflibrary) is updated regularly with information about new books and goings on.

Student FAQ:

I have lost my library card. How do I get a new one?

To get a new library card you just have to tell the librarian that you need a new card and she

will make you a new card as soon as possible. If you have any overdue books on your

account you will need to return those books before you are able to get a new card.

How many books can I borrow at a time?

You are allowed to borrow two books at a time, though exceptions can be made if you need

books for a school assignment.

How long am I allowed to borrow a book for?

You can borrow books for two weeks at a time but if you haven’t finished the book by the

due date you are allowed to renew the book for an additional two weeks.

Is the library open during break and lunch?

Yes, the library is open for borrowing books, reading, and doing schoolwork every break and

lunchtime unless there is a sign on the door stating otherwise.

I really want to read a book, but I can’t find it in the library. What should I do?

You should ask the librarian whether or not the book is in the library because she will know

where to find it if it is in the library. If the library does not carry the book you can request for

the book to be ordered!

How can I check whether a book is in my Accelerated Reader level?

The spines of the books in the library are clearly labelled with coloured stickers that

designate certain ranges of Accelerated Reader levels. Inside each of the Accelerated Reader

books are small labels with additional information including the specific level number. If you

want to check the level of a book from home or another library you can search the book’s title
