Curriculum Overview

At Christ’s College Finchley our curriculum is designed with three principles in mind, all of which are linked and have an influence on each other. Our curriculum prepares our pupils for future success, through developing a love for learning and achieving personal academic excellence, whilst developing each individual pupil's skills and knowledge.

Our curriculum is designed to inspire high aspirations, challenge pupils to achieve their personal best, and equip them with the skills and knowledge required to exceed expectations. By setting high standards tailored to each pupil's ability and individual needs, we encourage independent learning and a growth mindset. Each subject's curriculum focuses on the development of subject-specific skills and knowledge while equipping pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of academia.

Develop a love of learning

Our curriculum is designed not only to support pupils in their trajectory towards success; we are also focused on developing a love for learning. Each unit within the spiral curriculum is designed to inspire the next generation, by creating links between the classroom and the wider world. Pupils becoming independent thinkers is integral to our vision, through engaging topics, real-world experiences and expert teaching. Trips (local and international), events and cross-curricular/interdisciplinary teaching (STEM) activities are an important part of our curriculum and can have a lasting impression, as well as inspiring pupils to excel in their subjects.
