Mark Evison Foundation Projects Showcase Students' Talents and Drive

We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of some of our Year 13 students who have recently completed a range of challenging and rewarding projects as part of the Mark Evison Foundation. This charity promotes the personal development of young people through non-academic challenges, providing them with mentoring and funding to create, plan, and carry out their own self-designed projects.

Dance Classes

A team of our students took on the exciting task of teaching weekly street dance classes to pupils in Years 7-9. For four months, they developed their own choreography and music, culminating in impressive performances at the East Finchley Festival and the annual Christ's College dance showcase. Through this experience, they gained significant confidence in teaching, leadership, and project management—skills that will serve them well in all their future endeavors.

Isle of Wight Hike

Three courageous students embarked on a four-day hike around the perimeter of the Isle of Wight. Battling challenging weather and a particularly demanding 14-hour, 35km day, they demonstrated remarkable resilience and responsibility. Not only did they complete this arduous journey, but they also raised over £800 for charity, showing their commitment to making a positive impact.

Inverness to Dunnet Head Bike Trip

Two of our students pushed their physical and mental limits by attempting to cycle from Inverness to Dunnet Head, the most northern point of mainland Britain. This 200-mile journey tested their perseverance, teamwork, and problem-solving skills at every turn. Their determination is an inspiration to us all.

Computer Game Creation

A group of our budding creators successfully developed their own original computer game. This project required a blend of technical prowess and artistic vision. They took the initiative to raise money for resources through a crowdfunding campaign, gaining invaluable experience in planning, organization, and communication. Despite facing coding challenges, they worked together as a team, successfully completing their game and honing skills that are essential in today’s digital world.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work and commitment. Their achievements, supported by the Mark Evison Foundation, are a testament to their character and the strong community we foster here at Christ's College.
