New Ofsted Report for 2025

We are delighted to share with you the full Ofsted report which we received following the inspection on 24th and 25th  February 2025 which states that the school’s work may have improved significantly since the last inspection. This report is the best possible outcome for the school and means that evidence gathered during the inspection suggests that if a graded inspection took place all judgements would be outstanding.

There are many comments that we are proud to read and it is testament to the expertise of the inspectors that they were able to recognise that it is ‘the bringing together of academic excellence and high expectations’ that makes Christ’s College Finchley ‘so successful’ and that ‘the school’s excellence is the result of the coherent way it brings everything together in the best interests of the pupils’. This is not something that can be created over two days and is the outcome of a number of years of hard work by all members of the school community. 

The main purpose of the inspection and the report is to provide external validation of what we already know about our school: ‘pupils are highly considerate of others’, ‘behaviour is impeccable’, ‘pupils are highly focused on their learning’, ‘teachers are readily approachable for help’, ‘the arrangements for safeguarding are effective’ and ‘the school promotes respect and tolerance’.

Whilst the report highlights no areas for improvement, we are aware that this does not make us a  perfect school. The report highlights our ‘commitment to continuous improvement’ and we are determined to ensure that Christ’s College Finchley continues to grow and develop so that our pupils ‘advance all the way’.
