I excitedly woke up at 5.45am for my very first school trip at CCF. When I saw the coach I was absolutely stunned. The coach was massive and really warm, which was ideal because I was freezing. The 1hr 30 minute coach trip sped by, and when we arrived Ms Ireland announced which groups we were in. I was happy and relieved because there were people from my form, plus some new people who I got to know much better too.

Our first activity was thrilling rock climbing, which I was afraid of because of how toweringly high it was. The people who had made it to the top were so incredibly brave - how could one do that in the rainy weather?! Sadly I was too scared to try, but my teacher and the instructor were really supportive so I didn’t feel bad and cheered on my classmates instead.

Our next activity was fantastic archery, which was EPIC! I was pretty confident until I realised I had to actually hit the target! It was an interesting lesson and gradually I improved.

Lunch was relaxing and fun because you got to talk with new people and go to the playground, which was obviously really enjoyable.

Our last activity of the day was adventurous canoeing which I was initially a bit nervous about, but I overcame my fear. I was partnered with a girl in my form - it was enjoyable and hilarious at the same time, when she tried to get a piece of paper on the side of the lake, which meant we nearly turned the whole canoe upside down!

At the end of the day we hurried back to our huts, collected our belongings and went back to our coaches. While we were on the coach we went down a humongous, twisting hill slide and were all screaming “AHHHHHHHH” - it was like a rollercoaster.

Finally, we returned back to school. I was too tired to even speak; it was the most unforgettable, action-packed, amazing school trip ever.A new exciting adventure was discovered…..
